About Me
I have been practicing yoga since my early 20s, and after a ten year career in journalism, I retrained as a fitness instructor in 2001, teaching in community and leisure centers around Cardiff and overseas in the Middle East and Brazil, where my husband worked as a BBC reporter. Somehow we managed to have four children along the way, and on returning to Wales in 2015 I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with FittCo Wales/YMCA. I currently teach two classes a week at the Welsh Institute of Sport and five classes a week online. I continue to deepen my practice daily, attending training workshops and simply by going to yoga classes wherever I happen to be, anywhere in the world and online. I teach a fusion of Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, linking movement and breath to come into the classic poses, focusing on developing balance, strength, flexibility and a calm mind. All classes begin and end with Pranayama, the practice of breath control, and are suitable for beginners and advanced students alike. I am passionate about making yoga accessible to all, no matter what age or level of fitness, and firmly believe in the benefits of yoga, mentally and physically, as a wonderful support and balance in our busy, noisy, modern lives. My aim is for all my clients to finish their class with a feeling of calm and wellbeing.
