Thubten will explain the meaning and benefits of these practices, with advice on how to strengthen our ability to visualise and gain a deeper connection with the blessing of these profound techniques.Suitable for those who are already learning these practices.
Thubten will also be available for one-to-one interviews during his visit.
About Gelong Thubten
Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist monk, meditation teacher and author. He became a monk at Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland 30 years ago and has spent over six years in enclosed meditation retreats, including one which lasted for four years. He has completed 200 pairs of the ‘nyung ne’ fasting practice and spent many years as personal assistant to Akong Tulku Rinpoche. Thubten now runs Samye Dzong Scarborough, as well as helping here at our Cardiff centre.
He has done pioneering work bringing meditation to many organisations, including hospitals, schools, companies, prisons and rehab centres. He has lectured at Oxford University and for large organisations such as Google and The United Nations. He is also a trustee of the humanitarian aid charity ROKPA International and our Welsh charity Samye Foundation Wales.
Thubten is the author of the Sunday Times bestseller ‘A Monk’s Guide to Happiness’ as well as his latest book, ‘Handbook for Hard Times’. He also worked with Ruby Wax and neuroscientist Ash Ranpura on the book and live tour, ‘How to be Human'.
